Modesty In Your Closet: Shirts

Hello dear sisters in Christ, I hope you all are having a very blessed day. Today I wanted to share with you all my opinions on modesty, regarding shirts.

1.Tank tops: Think of your arms just as you would your legs as they are both limbs, you wouldn't expose your upper leg or thigh so why then should we expose our upper arms or shoulders. I believe the more skin covered the more modest and Biblical correct the clothing item will be.

2.T-shirts: I don't often wear t-shirt type shirts but if/or/when I do i like to make shure the sleeve is long enough to cover at least most of my upper arm.

3.Blouses: My absolute favorite :) I love blouses, they are modest, comfortable and feminine and I would suggest them to all of my lovely sisters of Christ who are trying to dress modestly.

Things to watch out for in shirts:
1. Tightness: I learned this from a book I read on modesty: Press to fingers to the collar of your shirt, if the shirt pops right back up it's probably too tight.
2. To loose: Don't go to the other extreme either, when clothing is too loose it can sag away from the body when you are bending over. And easy fix to this is to wear a tighter undershirt with the loose top.
3: Too short: make sure when doing any activity your midrift isn't able to be seen
4. Gaps: When wearing a blouse, make sure it is loose enough so that it doesn't cause gaps wear the buttons are.
God bless dear sisters!

  1. Hi! I was wondering if you could do a post on modest dresses that you think would be nice to wear to a dinner/dance or prom? I'd love to see your ideas!
