1. The Bible itself (the Word of God) clearly states that traditions listed in the gospel, given to us by the Lord are to be maintained throughout the ages, EVEN in our modern times.
2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
1 Corinthians 11:2I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.
2.The Lord is all-knowing. Jesus Christ new the world was going to change when He gave us all instruction. He is all-knowing He knew everything about our "modern times" before the words even left His mouth, before the Bible was even written.2 Timothy 4:2-4
2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
3. The standards of modern times shouldn't be our guidelines. In these days anything goes, you can do whatever, be whatever, dress however, say whatever. But that isn't how Christ calls all Christians to be like. To say something in the Bible doesn't apply in these times is absolutely right, BECAUSE these times are corrupt! But that doesn't mean the Bible's teachings shouldn't apply to all Christians!
The Bible applies then, now and ten years from now. We are the followers of our dear Lord and Savior, we have no right to say what applies in His word and what doesn't. We have no right to say what He said was important and what we can throw out. Let us follow the whole word of God. God bless dear sisters, I hope this article has blessed you in some way!
