Women Should Dress Modestly

Hello dear sisters today I wanted to share with you my opinions on why people make excuses for dressing immodestly.

1 Timothy 2:9-10

likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-

control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for

women who profess godliness—with good works.

The Bible gives pretty clear instructions hear so why then do Christian women ignore what the Bible says?
1# They Want To Fit In:
People Don't Want to stand out, or be thought as of different or weird. What I would ask of these type of people is to look into your heart and ask yourself who do I want to please? God, The Creator Of Heaven
and Earth or the mortal people that opinions don't really matter?
2# Styles Have Changed:
True Styles have changed but men's minds have not. When it comes to this area we not only need to focus on what God commands but also what our "new fashions" are causing our brothers in Christ to do: Stumble.
3#Not Comfortable
I will admit it is harder to be modest in the hot or even cold weather. But instead of focusing on OUR discomfort think of this, The Lord died on the cross for us. Do we really think that that was "comfortable"
for Jesus? OF COURSE NOT. But He did it for us, to save us, so in return we as His daughters should obey His words no matter how uncomfortable it makes US.
4# Not Attractive
A lot of why women don't want to dress modest is this: They want the opposite sex to find them attractive. Here's what this issue boils down to, unless that person is your husband it is a sin to try and make him desire you sexually. However it is not a sin to try and be attractive, you can be attractive without dressing provocative or in the way that's going to cause you brother to stumble. And not every man you meet is going to be YOUR husband, but a majority of them will be someone else's someday, so in a way, the manner in which  some women are dressed is causing men to stumble into adultery in their hearts with someone that isn't there future wife.

And so I will leave you with this, I love what this fellow Christian blogger says here.

Many people will say, "Well, God looks on the heart. God doesn't care what you look like on the outside. God just looks on the heart." That is true. God does look on the heart, but man cannot see the heart. Man can only see the outer. Not only that, the outer appearance is usually a pretty good indicator of what is in a person's heart. Although it is possible to look right on the outside and be wrong on the inside, it is well nigh impossible to look right on the outside and be right on the inside. What is on the outside comes from the inside. That is why Jesus said, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34). Granted, a man could say the right things, and have a wrong heart, but a man who had a right heart would never say the wrong things. So the outer appearance is the only indicator that man has that someone is right with God, right in their heart. So God does care how we look. Not only does God care how we look, there are rules in the Bible for both men and women that should govern our appearance. Now, whenever you start to talking about these rules, the women are always the first ones to complain, because there are more rules for the women than there are for the men. And I often wonder why the Bible has all these rules for the women and very few rules for the men, and the reason why is because men and women are made differently. I know that is not a "politically correct" thing to say, but it is none the less true. God made man and women differently.

Modesty in the Church

Hell dear sisters today I wanted to talk about modesty in the church, or the lack of I should say. Modestly dressed women AND men are a scarce thing to see in Church nowadays. Being modest in Church is severely lacking and doesn't really exist. Women come to church in mini skirts, shorts shorts, cleavage revealing outfits and much more inappropriate attire. Now you may be asking yourself, why are these items of clothing immodest to wear to church (or anywhere). The reason behind this is TOO MUCH SKIN. The whole point behind modesty is to cover up to not reveal one's self to anyone and everyone. ESPECIALLY in Church. Church is a sacred place, a place to worship God, our Creator. Modesty is an issue of the heart so I am asking you as a sister in Christ to look into your heart and ask yourself, would I want the Lord to see me dressed like this? If your a young lady think of this, when your brothers (in Christ) goes to worship the Lord in His home, do you want to cause your brother to stumble by having sinful thoughts about you IN THE MOST HOLY OF PLACES. Causing our brothers to stumble is a sin in and of itself, but to do so in the Lords home is horribly wrong and sinful. We women need to be respectful of the Lords home, we need to dress tastefully AND modestly. When you go to church you want all the attention on God, you shouldn't want all the attention draw on you in the Lord's home. People go there to worship, church is supposed to be safe place a place our brothers can go without the fear of stumbling and falling into sin.

1 Corinthians 10:31-33

31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause

anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God- 33 even as I try to please

everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may

be saved.

Another issue I wanted to address in "casual wear" to church. A good example I have come across is this:
You wouldn't wear jeans  and a T-shirt to a friends wedding, but you would wear it to you Creator's home? The One who made the Heavens and Earth? That just doesn't seem right, does it? People have lost a huge chunk of respect for our Lord. We need to get dressed in our finest and most modest attire to go and see and worship the Lord. We need to go back to having respect and reverence for his home. Look into your hearts brothers and sisters. God bless all!

Remember the asabbath day, to keep it bholy.

Bible Verse OTD: Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

Bible Verse OTD: Shyness

Philippians 4:6-9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Bible Verse OTD: Regrets + Forgiven

Philippians 3:13-15

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
