Christians Who Cover
The Beachys, Amish, and many Mennonites wear coverings, but so do other some Christians today who have been convicted of doing so from reading the Bible. There is becoming more and more of a realization that the Bible teaches the wearing of the head covering for Christian women. This is taught in 1 Corinthians 11:1-16, right next to the passage on communion. People write off the head covering for all sorts of reasons today, saying it is cultural or just for the time, etc... but what is the real motive for doing so? Many Christians today want their appearance looking good or attractive, and ignore passages that address appearance like 1 Peter 3:1-6. The head covering would be an additional burden to looking attractive or stylish. Paul speaks to universal and spiritual reasons to wear the covering, not all the other stuff people come up with today. Angels, prayer, headship order, among other reasons, are of eternal value, not cultural or time-period relativity. Also, God wants women to have long hair as it says in 1 Cor. 11, but this isn't the only covering. Verse six wouldn't make sense if Paul said that long hair was the only covering. You may read more about the head covering in the book The Ornament of a Spirit, written by this website’s author.

The Bible No Longer Applies Today
Hello dear sisters! Today I wanted to address another excuse I hear from people who don't wish to follow the Bible or do but want to cut out certain things. This excuse is that some biblical verses or the hole Bible doesn't apply in today's modern times. This is one of the most common excuses I hear. Now I want to go over why the Bible applies to all Christians:
1. The Bible itself (the Word of God) clearly states that traditions listed in the gospel, given to us by the Lord are to be maintained throughout the ages, EVEN in our modern times.
2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
2.The Lord is all-knowing. Jesus Christ new the world was going to change when He gave us all instruction. He is all-knowing He knew everything about our "modern times" before the words even left His mouth, before the Bible was even written.
3. The standards of modern times shouldn't be our guidelines. In these days anything goes, you can do whatever, be whatever, dress however, say whatever. But that isn't how Christ calls all Christians to be like. To say something in the Bible doesn't apply in these times is absolutely right, BECAUSE these times are corrupt! But that doesn't mean the Bible's teachings shouldn't apply to all Christians!
The Bible applies then, now and ten years from now. We are the followers of our dear Lord and Savior, we have no right to say what applies in His word and what doesn't. We have no right to say what He said was important and what we can throw out. Let us follow the whole word of God. God bless dear sisters, I hope this article has blessed you in some way!

2 Timothy 4:2-4
2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Bible verse OTD: Forgiveness
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (attitude: can love cover it?)
2 Corinthians 2:5-8 Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure—not to put it too severely—to all of you. For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. (attitude: stand ready to forgive)
Humanity is never so beautiful as when praying for forgiveness, or else forgiving another.

Women Don't Need Makeup
Genesis 1:27
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.
Jeremiah 4:30
And you, O desolate one, what do you mean that you dress in scarlet, that you adorn yourself
with ornaments of gold, that you enlarge your eyes with paint? In vain you beautify yourself.
Your lovers despise you; they seek your life.
He made you exactly how He wanted you to look, you are BEAUTIFUL because He made you that way. Today sisters I want to urge you to look in the mirror without makeup and see the beauty God gave you, let's stop covering up what God made in His image. Let your natural God given beauty shine through. God bless dear sisters.
Weight-Loss Wednesday Week 3
Hello dear sisters! I hope you all are having a blessed day, so it's week three of my weight-loss journey, I'm down about ten pounds. I started at 185 (Please excuse my last two posts that say I started at 180, as I said I don't have a scale so didn't know for sure) I went to my grandmothers house on Sunday , and they have a scale where I weighed myself. Minor set back there because no one can resist there grandmothers cooking:)
So here is what I look like this week:
(Please excuse the glare on the camera screen)
Last week
The Weeknight One-Dish Pasta
Make it: Start with a reduced-fat version of mac 'n' cheese, which usually has you use skim or 1 percent milk. While the macaroni is cooking, steam a cup of small broccoli florets until crisp-tender (about 8 minutes). Once you've incorporated the cheese mixture into the pasta, gently stir in the broccoli and 3/4 cup diced lean ham.

Prayers For The People of Boston
On this day,
on every day,
let us mourn with those who mourn.
on every day,
let us mourn with those who mourn.
For our hearts are broken,
and all the sorrow and pain and suffering of the world
has fallen in the shattered shells of ourselves.
Let us take us these fragile broken pieces
and lay them on Thine altar.
Let us make our broken hearts an offering unto Thee.
and all the sorrow and pain and suffering of the world
has fallen in the shattered shells of ourselves.
Let us take us these fragile broken pieces
and lay them on Thine altar.
Let us make our broken hearts an offering unto Thee.
O, God, we hurt.
O God, let us find some comfort,
some peace,
in doing Thy work,
in mourning with those who mourn,
and comforting those who stand in need of comfort.
some peace,
in doing Thy work,
in mourning with those who mourn,
and comforting those who stand in need of comfort.
Lord, forgive us our sins,
on this day,
on every day.
on this day,
on every day.
Amen
