Do Not Be Conformed To The World

Modesty is NOT about "not drawing attention to yourself", if this was the case then Christians should be walking around half naked like the rest of the world. Part of modesty is about NOT drawing attention to yourself for ungodly reasons. If someone is starring at you because you are dressed half naked, wearing gaudy or flashy clothing THIS goes against the Word of God. If someone is starring at you because you are dressed plainly and modestly then you ARE still following the Word of God by being set apart and not being conformed to the world. We are to be set apart we are NOT to look like the world, let us look the Christians NOT the World. WE should seek to follow the Word of God not worry about looking different or standing out. Stand out for Christ and ignore the people who stare and mock, they are not your leader. God is.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Hi Taylor! It's so encouraging to read your posts on modesty. I have a 13 year old daughter who I think would love to read through your blog and be encouraged too. I'll have her check it out. In the meantime, I wanted to let you know about our Facebook group for covering Christian women. We'd love to have you and any covering friends you have join us, if you'd like.

Blessings,
Mrs. Sarah Coller

Hi, you offer some great insights & directions on modesty! In the past I haven't agreed with everything you've said, but I've always enjoyed dialogue. Hope you're doing well & staying strong in faith and love.

I've been searching for hours trying to understand or even become aware of why I am dead set on my moral values, everything kept taking me to history of woman, but thanks to , Taylor Willett, I have found my answers...God has blessed me through your blog..

Thank you Taylor.
This is so Wonderful .
Modesty is the will of God.
Not only on the dressing but also christian women should not wear make up, all kinds of Jewelry, or anything artificial on our bodies.
Because God created us perfectly and he made us the way he wanted too.
1PETER 3:3 YOUR BEAUTY SHOULD NOT COME FROM OUT WARD ADORNMENT, SUCH AS BRAIDING OF HAIR, AND WEARING OF GOLD JEWELRY AND FINE CLOTHES .

Because when we do all these we are judging God that he did not creat us well so we make our own creation by adding a fake look to our selves trying to attract other people or please other people thus disobeying God.
Sisters! God is so serious with modesty it has to be observed.

But also let us clean both in and out so that we have no fault in the eyes of the Lord.
Shalom

I appreciate you encouraging people in modesty. I also have a passion for encouraging modesty. I believe that true modesty involves an element of meekness. In other words those that are holy in their manner of conversation { this means manner of life; including how we dress) have the humility or meekness to please God rather than fear man's disapproval. God has called those who follow Him to be holy as He is holy. I appreciate you pointing out that modesty doesn't draw attention to self, yet, true modesty is so contrary to modern attire that modesty draws attention. The difference is inmodesty draws attention to the form of the body, while modesty can draw people to consider & think on a more spiritual level. It can also bring about convictions in the heart of the beholder, rather than lust. True modesty also sets apart true followers. Modesty is beautiful to those who appreciate it. However, I'd like to encourage all those reading this to stand clear of this "Modest is Hottest" mentality. This idea is far from the meek & quiet spirit God calls women to. And this is not to imply that modesty is only a woman's issue. God calls men to be modest as well. Men's modesty is often overlooked in our time. Looking forward to reading more of your blog.
