Modesty In The Church

NON-Existent:
Hello sisters! Today I wanted to talk about the lack of modesty in the church, and when I say this I'm referring to ALL churches not just one specific one. Modesty has been shoved on the back burner when it comes to church, not one talks about it not even the pastors/priests/ whatever. It has become a non-existent topic in Christian churches. To me this is awful, modesty is just as important as all the other commands written in the Bible. We as Christians should strive to follow the WHOLE Bible, not just the parts some people or we find in important. If it's in the Bible than GOD found it important and we as Christians should follow His commands to the best of our abilities.

1 Timothy 2:9-10

Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-

control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for

women who profess godliness—with good works.

Attire to church now-a-days is:
1. Too Casual: You wouldn't go to a friend's wedding in a T-shirt and jeans, but your going into your Creators home like that? It just doesn't make sense, it's disrespectful to our Lord. Basically it's saying "Lord your not worth getting dressed up for".
2.Too revealing: Baring so much skin is:
                     a. disrespectful to out Lord
                     b. Distracts the men in the congregation

Men having to struggle with sinful thoughts through out the days however in church? That's the last place anyone should have to struggle with sin, this is a place where people are called to feel safe to worship and have fellowship.

1 Corinthians 10:31-33

31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause

anyone

to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God

3.Too gaudy: When I say we should dress our "best" to church, I don't mean we should wear gaudy, fancy or overly extravagant clothing that draws attention to ourselves (Church should be ALL about worshiping the Lord and learning his word NOT about us in anyway) What I mean is we should look put together, like we didn't just crawl out of bed. We should look clean and put together for our Lord everyday, but ESPECIALLY in His home.
                                                                                          God bless sisters!
                                                                                                                 Taylor
