What Is Modesty In Dress?

This a question I'v always had a little bit of trouble with. I'v tried to understand what modesty is and my conclusion is being modest means being a person of God who does not what to make her brothers in Christ stumble, who does not want to draw negative attention to themselves and who respects them selves and there bodies. To me being modest means simply dressing in a way that is pleasing to God and not the world. And not only that but if you are dressing in a way that is immodest, who is it your going to attract? Certainly not a Godly man, your going to attract a worldly man who will not only hurt you but lead you astray from God. Christian men want a lady who is striving to please God, with good morals and self-respect. Here are a couple verses in the Bible on modesty.

Timothy 2:9  


I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or 


gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 


Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in 


you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.
